We are working in partnership with a leading provider of freelance, independent consultants to FTSE 350 and Fortune 500 organisations. Our client is a national promotions services company providing sales, promotions, merchandising and demonstration staff across a wide range of UK industries.  They are a vibrant promotions company with over 25 years experience in promotional work, merchandising, road shows & exhibitions giving brand awareness to any product.  They complete 5000+ demonstrations/promotions each month; food sampling, electrical promotions, makeovers, product launches, skin care promotions to leafleting, market research & mystery shopping.

 

They have been providing a high standard of service to a national superstore chain for over 14 years by professionally demonstrating a wide selection of the products that are sold in-store.

The ideal candidate will be smart and articulate with an engaging personality and great interpersonal skills, a mature dedicated and proactive approach to work, fluent in spoken and written English.

Each job is different so you need a motivated and flexible attitude but all jobs involve hands-on chatting to customers about products and handing out samples, cooking samples as required for handing out, all in a thriving sales environment, as well as providing written feedback to the vendors of the products. We promote a wide range of products including electrical goods, gadgets, and food and drink items in warehouses across the
UK

They offer a level of flexibility with working times; our demonstrators lstate when they are free and are advised what work is available up to 2 weeks in advance.  A
7½ hour day is usual but also have available 2 to 4 hours work a day covering other demonstrators break times. Training is available and will be given on specialized products as necessary. All demonstrators are asked to carry out a hygiene training course within 90 days of start date, which is provided in store. Free parking is available and uniform adhering to health and safety standards is provided.

Daily rate for Demonstrators starts from £44 per 7.5 hour day, which will rise once hygiene training has been completed and passed. The rate for Assistant Supervisors is £56 per 7.5 hour day, and £65 for Supervisors. The Supervisory grades must be prepared to work at least 4 days per week with 2 week-ends every month.

The vacancies are in Thurrock, Reading, Manchester and Cardiff

Job Description: 

The Great River Race (www.greatriverrace.co.uk) is now in its 21st year.  In that time the Race has grown into an International event, with over 270 entries and creates a great spectacle on 22 miles of the Thames.  A handicap Race open to anyone over 10 years, competing for more than 30 trophies and raising more than £130,000 for charities. It is a terrific day and the buzz from the competitors from all over the UK and some overseas bears this out. 

The Race is organised by the Race Director (the initiator of the event) and supported by the other 9 Directors of the Great River Race (a company limited by guarantee) and many other volunteers.  Only the Race Director gets paid for his year long commitment as money is tight.

Your input as a volunteer can be as much or as little as you are prepared to offer and to be available for the day of the Race.   It takes place on a Saturday 13th September 2008
